Week 2: A hard healthy week

Week two has not been easy at all. I have felt overwhelmed, been sick and not been to the gym as many times as I would like. Starting my teaching practicals has made life rather busy. I really admire the people who work full time, blog and manage to get to the gym.  I have however managed to stay healthy in my eating which I’m proud of.

Monday was fine as I was home the whole day. I managed to get to the gym and I really pushed myself which I am proud of. I also made sure to eat healthy foods. Knowing that my week would be busy I made a container of salad for the week’s lunches.

Tuesday is when I starting doing my teaching practice, this came as a total shock to my body. I was up by 5:45, at school before 7, in the class till 1 and then I went to the gym. I do not know how I managed to get to the gym but somehow I did it.  That night I was however in bed before 7:30.

Wednesday was the same but this time I had netball practice till 2 and then teacher prep meeting till 3. I managed to keep my food choices healthy but I did not make it to the gym. Being in a classroom with 20 seven-year-olds is so exhausting. The constant flow of questions and walking up and down drains a person more than any gym class I have been too.

Thursday was another exhausting day. After school, there were netball matches till 5 pm. It was meant to be till 6 pm but it started to pour with rain. Yay for finishing early but I got so wet in the rain that my clothes had to be left in the bathtub to dry.

Friday morning I woke up with the worst throat ache but thankfully it was Friday. After a very long week, I finally got some time to relax that afternoon.

This week I am proud to say my meals have been healthy and I have kept to my three meals a day routine. I am also having a morning snack when the learners have their break and this has been a healthy snack. Every day I make sure I eat a good breakfast so that I have enough energy for the morning. When one is running after kids you need your energy trust me.  I have had a salad for lunch each day with either chicken or mince for my protein and when it comes to dinner I make sure to have the right amount of protein and vegetables. It has not been easy but I find that being prepared ahead of time really helps.

I definitely admire anyone that manages to be healthy and go to the gym, work full time and blog – that’s a juggling act that I’m yet to master so I definitely admire you for it! I hope next week is a little easier for you.. 🙊

Well done you to keep going even if it was a tough week. I started this week trying to eat healthy and it can be tough but you seem to have a great food routine and that’s half the battle sometimes! Good luck with week 3 I hope it’s an easier one.

Got so much respect for you that you are making these changes. I’ve found that it can be hard at the start of it, but when getting used to it it is so worth all of this 🙂 You did very well. Keep going and don’t get discouraged. I am also making these changes for myself . Maybe we can support eachother if you like ^^

Your week sounds super hectic so go you for sticking to your healthy meals! When I’m tired after a full day at work I’m always so tempted to grab a takeaway instead of having to go home and cook, I need your motivation! Don’t worry about not getting to the gym much this week hun you’ll soon get in a new routine once your body is used to it and I’m sure you’re burning loads of calories being on your feet all day anyway! You’re an inspiration to everyone!

Sometimes, things happen and we need to take a step back to take care of ourselves first. I’m happy you pushed yourself at the gym! Wow, you were rocking the world on Tuesday! It’s great that you’ve been eating healthy :). Hope you’ll continue the streak!
