From pimples and dimples to only dimples

For two weeks, I spent my time in and out of the hospital, I was in the hospital every second morning, for my ECT treatment. Not only did this treatment lead to bad headaches, muscles pain and a bunch of other things but it also led to my face breaking out in pimples. The pimples surrounded my mouth so I gather that they were probably caused by the oxygen mask they put on my face before I would go under the anesthetics. Any how my face came out of those two weeks with a lot of pimples and being very oily.

With my skin being so oily and having so many pimples I decided I wanted to try to find a new product to help my skin out. Luck was on my side the day I decided to go to clicks as they were having their buy three and get the cheapest free special. I have tried my fair share of brands in the past and felt that none of them would do the trick this time.

After about an hour of reading product labels, walking up and down the and picking up something then putting it down due to not being sure I came across the Eucerin section. I had seen this brand before but never tried it as I thought it was one of those really expensive brands. I was wrong about the expensive part, they are not the cheapest but they do not cost an arm and a leg. I walked out of clicks that day with three Eucerin products, from their Dermo Purifier oil control range, that in the space of a month have transformed my skin.

Eucerin has launched over 100 years ago and are playing a leading role in skin innovation. The best part about the brand for me is they do NOT test on animals.

The first product of Eucerin which I use three times a week is the scrub. This scrub retails for R139.95 for 100ml. This scrub claims to unclog pores, smoothen skin texture and remove blackheads in the process. I was amazed by how well this product works. A little almond size drop on my hands goes all over my face and the microparticles are soft on my skin.

The second Eucerin product which I use morning and night is the cleansing gel which retails for R127.95.  One gets 200ml of product in a pump container that pumps out the perfect amount of one face wash. This has to be my all-time favorite face cleansing gel. My face feels clean and fresh after using this cleanser. and it is such an easy cleanser to use. Another bonus to this cleanser is it removes my makeup, this is such a great bonus for me. My only issue with this product is that it does have a soap like smell but after a week I stopped noticing it.

The third and final Eucerin product that I use twice a day is their mattifying fluid. This was a bit more expensive as it prices at R210.00 for 50ml, however it is totally worth it. The cream claims to smooth the skin, reduce blemishes and control shine for up to 8 hours. I can say that this is true. It does not give that matt look like when you put a ton of powder on your face, it is a natural matt look. I felt that this really added a great amount of moisture to my skin, not once have I felt that my skin is dry.

Honestly, after a month of using these three products, my skin has cleared up and smoothened out. I do not have any acne scarring and I feel so much more confident every day now. I have found my go to face skin set.

The mattifying fluid sounds so amazing, I really need something like that especially for when the weather gets warmer as it makes my skin crazy oily. I’m glad you’ve found some skin products that work for you – I agree that it can be overwhelming when you’re browsing the shelves as there’s so many different things on offer! Love your photos here too x
