Extraordinary or just ordinary haircare?
If you do not know already I am a sucker for specials, if there is a special Ashton will be there. About a month ago during the clicks 3 for 2 special, I bought myself some haircare products. Normally I just got with my normal cheapish shampoo and then sometimes buy a more expensive conditioner. But with the 3 for 2 special, I just could not help myself. I bought the Elvive extraordinary oil curl nourishment range from L’oreal Paris and this is what I think.
After a week of using this range of haircare, I was rather in love but I felt that I should just push through a little longer before I write a full post on it and I am glad I did.
First is the curl nourishment shampoo, now after a month of using this I can honestly say there is nothing special about this shampoo. 400ml costs R74.95 which really is not wild but for a student it is more than what I would normally spend. It states that it nourishes even the driest hair, defines curls and adds vibrant shine. I can honestly say it is just like a normal shampoo, it cleans hair full stop nothing amazing to it.
Second is the curl nourishment conditioner which I am totally in love with. Every time I use it I feel like I am using a hair mask and my hair always feels so amazing afterwards. The 400ml bottle would last me about a month and half, it costs R74.95. I adore how soft this makes my hair and it gives my curls this great bounce. I can truly say that this conditioner will be on my shopping list as soon as I finish it.
The last product I got was the curl nourishment oil-in-balm. I have very mixed feelings about this product. It is R84.95 for 250ml, I use it almost after every wash and the bottle is still so fill. Having curly hair I find that my hair gets extremely dry and I have found that this does make my hair a lot less dry. I also love how when I use it I have such lovely defined curls. My only problem is I do find I need to wash my hair more often because it starts to feel oil quicker. I guess you could say I have a love-hate relationship with this product.
So at the end of the day, the only one I would not recommend you is the shampoo…
